Govt committed to conserve cultural heritage: Katoch

Union Culture Minister Chandresh Kumari Katoch today said Centre is committed to safeguard country's rich cultural heritage through conservation of ancient building and monuments, literary treasures and other antiques.
The minister informed that till now, as many 80,000 places and items of historical importance have been discovered by various teams of Culture Ministry, and the work is continuing.
Katoch said the ministry will send teams of experts to Cambodia, France and other countries to equip them with necessary skills to conserve historical treasures.
These experts, upon their return, will impart training to other Culture Ministry staff involved in conservation efforts, she said.
