"Judiciary wins the trust of people by defending their democratic and Constitutional rights through delivery of justice," Rupani said, speaking at the concluding ceremony of two-day seminar of the State Judicial Academy here.
"Of the four pillars of democracy, judiciary is the most important, and everybody expects it to work in such a manner that other three pillars are strengthened," he said.
The CM added that his government was "committed" to help judiciary by providing necessary facilities "so that it could deliver the justice fast."
Governor O P Kohli, speaking at the event, called for "scientific management" of judicial system for effective delivery of justice.
People's expectations of justice had risen with effective organisation of Lok Adalats in the state, he said, adding: "It is the duty of the judiciary to ensure that justice is delivered to the poorest and the weakest sections of society.
"We expect the judiciary to work with high morals in a manner that public trust in democracy is strengthened. Judicial ethics and accountability are important pillars of democracy," Kohli said.
