He said Puducherry govt will also offer skill development programmes for the teachers

Puducherry government is commited to relieving various departments, including Education and Health of shortcomings, if any, to enable them to provide quality service, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy said on Tuesday.

Addressing reporters in Puducherry after making surprise visits to Vallalar Government Girls Higher Secondary School and Navalar Nedunchezian Government High School in Lawspet, he said he had asked the teachers to train the girl students to develop mental courage as it was the need of the hour.

The government would also offer skill development programmes for the teachers in keeping with the guidelines issued by Union HRD Ministry, he added.

The CM said he would make such visits to various government departments and offices seeking feedback on staff requirements to help relieve shortcomings, if any.

On vacancies in schools, the CM said if there were vacancies for teachers' posts, particularly in rural areas, they would be addressed without any loss of time.

Narayanasamy was accompanied by Education Minister R Kamalakannan, local legislator and Deputy Speaker V P Sivakolundhu, Secretary to Education G Ragesh Chandra and officials of the Directorate of Education.
