Kerala Government today objected in the High Court the plea by an accused in the murder case of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan seeking suspension of the three year sentence given to him by a lower court.
The statement filed by K V Santosh, DYSP, CB-CID, Kannur, said the role played by the accused, Pradeepan, had been very vital and that he had prior knowledge of the murder.
Another accused, Sunil Kumar had handed over five blood stained swords to Pradeepan with a direction to conceal it, the statement said.
Pradeepan was also an accused in another case, it added.
Earlier the court had admitted the appeals filed by the 12 accused, including three local CPI (M) leaders, convicted and sentenced to undergo life imprisonment in the murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party leader T P Chandrasekharan.
The accused had been convicted and sentenced by special additional sessions court at Kozhikode in January this year.

The court had posted the appeal filed by Pradeepan, who was convicted for three years under section 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) of IPC, for today.
According to the accused, there is no evidence to implicate them in the case. They contended that the lower court has believed the entire prosecution story disregarding the fact that the witnesses were bogus.
The accused further alleged that some of the witnesses were RSS and RMP activists.
Chandrasekharan was brutally hacked to death on May 4, 2012.
