Govt holds meet with RSS affiliates over key economic issues

To help resolve concerns raised by some RSS affiliates on key economic issues, the government today reached out to them at a meeting, where some top ministers, BJP and senior RSS leaders were also present.
According to sources, concerns related to key economic issues like FDI in retail and defence, labour and employee matters, raised by RSS affiliates like Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM), Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) and Laghu Udyog Bharti were discussed.
Union ministers, including Nirmala Sitharaman, Kalraj Mishra, Radha Mohan Singh, Piyush Goyal and Mansukh Lal Mandaviya, RSS Joint General Secretary Krishan Gopal and BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ram Lal were present at the meeting.
Senior BJP leaders Murlidhar Rao and Bhupender Yadav were also present along with top leaders of SJM, BMS and Laghu Udyod Bharti.
The meeting went on till late in the night and issues on which RSS affiliates have publicly opposed the government were discussed at length, a source said.
Issues relating to GM crops, IPR, pay commission, labour and that of medium and small scale industry were also discussed.
