"We are inviting suggestions from consumers, industry and all other stake holders to check the flow of fake goods in the markets and further strengthening of laws related to consumer rights," Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said.
He was speaking at the conference on 'Illicit Markets-A threat to our National Interests' organised by the FICCI.
The government has initiated various measures to strengthen consumer rights, Paswan said adding that his ministry is working on to amend laws to set up a regulator to address consumer grievances.
The proposed Authority will have all executive and enforcement powers for redressal of consumer grievances and penal action against defaulting companies, the minister noted.
