The estimated cost of the new super speciality hospital is pegged at Rs 150 crore of which Rs 120 crore would be borne by the Centre while remaining Rs 30 crore would be incurred by the Maharashtra government, he said.
"I and sitting Shiv Sena MP Bhavana Gawali convinced Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who assured to provide Rs 30 crore for the project," the minister said.
"The new super speciality hospital would be set up on 2.5 to 3 acre of land within the GMC premises. There would be eight separate departments - neurology, neuro-surgery, cardiology, cardio thoracic surgery, plastic surgery, urology, kidney and dialysis," he said.
Gawli said "It is certainly a Diwali gift to the poor and needy patients of this district who often forced to go elsewhere to treat serious ailments and incur huge amount for the same".
