Govt not giving jobs to ex-army men's dependents: Ex-soldiers

Former soldiers organisation Uttarakhand Poorva Sainik and Ardhasainik Sangathan today accused the state government of failing to provide jobs to the next of kin of ex-army men and their dependents and giving preference to people from outside the army ranks.
At a press conference here, Sangathan president Ganga Singh Rawat said even Uttarakhand Poorva Sainik Kalyan Nigam Ltd (UPNL) is also not protecting interests of the dependents of former army men when it came to providing them jobs.
In many cases, outsiders were given preference over former army men's dependents or widows.
Holding UPNL chairman and state agriculture minister Harak Singh Rawat for the injustice being done to former army men's kin, Sangatan chief said he is running the affairs of the corporation as his "personal fiefdom".

He alleged brokers and influential people from outside the army ranks were misusing UPNL funds.
