Acting on a complaint, a vigilance team headed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Vipin Bihari Rai laid a trap and arrested BEO Shambhu Nath Keshari from his office at Chautham block for taking Rs 4,000 from one Rajiv Ranjan, Director General of Police (DGP), Vigilance, P K Thakur said.
The tainted BEO had demanded Rs 5,000 as bribe and had earlier taken Rs 1,000 from Ranjan for releasing salary arrears of his wife Seema Kumari, an assistant teacher in a secondary school, he said.
