Govt opens beauty and wellness training centres for minorities

Union Minister Najma Heptulla today launched an entrepreneurship and skill development initiative under Maulana Azad National Academy for Skills (MANAS) programme to train members from minority communities in cosmetology and natural care and cure.
According to a statement issued by Minority Affairs Ministry, Heptulla inaugurated online two training centres of beauty and wellness sector, one each in Okhla and Daryaganj area of the national capital.
In Okhla, renowned hairstylist Jawed Habib will provide "scientific and systematic" training to aspirants wishing to pursue a career in cosmetology, the Ministry said.
Herbal beauty expert Shahnaz Hussain will impart training at Daryaganj centre in the area of natural care and cure, it said.
The MANAS was established under the aegis of Ministry of Minority Affairs by National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) on November 11, 2014 in order to fulfil the vision of 'Skill India' and achieve the over-riding goal of the Government of India's 'Sab ka saath, Sab ka vikas' (inclusive growth), the statement added.
