Minister for Revenue Syed Basharat Bukhari today directed the Settlement Commissioner to look into the matter and submit a report within 45 days to the government, an official spokesman said.
Bukhari chaired a high-level meeting of the officers of Revenue department and reviewed the status of settlement operations and computerization of land records in the state, he said.
The minister also directed Financial Commissioner Revenue to submit the report of six villages, three each in Srinagar and Jammu, where settlement and digitization of revenue records has been already completed on pilot-basis.
In first phase, the settlement work of Srinagar and Jammu districts should be completed, Bukhari said, adding RAMTech India which have been entrusted with the digitization of land records work must expedite its efforts and complete the job timely.
