Govt panel to study problems of states in developing villages

Government has set up a committee to study the problems faced by states related to development of villages and recommend corrective measures.
The committee set up by Rural Development Minister Nitin Gadkari and chaired by Minister of State Upendra Kushwaha will has secretaries of Drinking Water and Sanitation and Rural Development Ministries as members.
Ministers and top officials of the state government can directly apprise Kushwaha of their concerns.
The panel will study whether particular schemes related to sanitation, water conservation, rural road, drinking water can be implemented in the states in view geographical, social and economic situation and how to do away with the difficulties.
The study report will be sent to the Cabinet for consideration by the committee, a Ministry official said.
