"While majority of calls were made to seek information, the call centre also received more than 1,000 complaints," said S S Yadav, Food and Supplies Commissioner.
Yadav informed that the call centre staff provide all the information relating to the services provided by the Department including the National Food Security Act, 2013.
"The complaints received were immediately forwarded to the concerned Zonal Assistant Commissioner of the department for enquiry and to take necessary penal action if the complaint was found to be true.
"They also inform the call centre which in turn conveys the action taken report to the complainant and take feedback about his or her satisfaction, said Yadav.
The department has now started providing information about the latest wholesale and retail price of onion, potato and tomato through the call centre and also the places where they were being made available for sale at reasonable rate by Delhi government, Yadav added.
