Govt rejigs senior bureaucrats, appoints 3 as PS to ministers

Senior IRS officer Deepak Shetty was today appointed Director General of Shipping as part of a reshuffle involving 14 bureaucrats effected by the government.
In addition to these, the appointment of three new Private Secretaries to central ministers has been cleared by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
Sunil Kumar, a 1998 batch Indian Statistical Service officer, has been appointed as PS to Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Minister Anant G Geete. Ravi Kumar, a 2000 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, has been appointed PS to Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises G M Siddeshwara.
Yashpal, a 1999 batch Haryana Civil Service officer, has been appointed Private Secretary to Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh, an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training said.
Deepak Shetty, a 1980 batch officer of Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise Cadre), has been appointed DG (Shipping) in the Directorate General of Shipping under the Ministry of Shipping in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary, it said.
He is presently working as Joint Director General (Shipping) in the directorate.

M J Joseph, a 1979 batch Indian Cost Accounts Service officer, has been appointed as Director General, Bureau of Indian Standards in Department of Consumer Affairs, in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary, it said.
He is working as Additional Secretary in the Corporate Affairs Ministry.
Anant Kumar Singh, a 1984 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs. His batchmate from Bihar cadre, Deepak Kumar has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
