Over 700 persons have been affected in the district due pesticide poisoning.
"The state government and the bureaucrats should be squarely held responsible for the large scale homicide and FIR should be filed against the guilty," demanded the Vikhe-Patil during a press conference held at the rest house here.
The opposition leader was in the city to take stock of the situation arising out of the pesticide poisoning and visited the Government Medical College along with vice chairman of the legislative council Manikrao Thakre, former minister Shivajirao Moghe, acting district unit president Vazahat Mirza and others.
Vikhe Patil further demanded for Rs 10 lakh as compensation for the families of the deceased and a government job for any one of the family member.
"We will raise the issue on the floor of the house and will try to ensure justice to the affected and will not allow the house to function till our demands are not met by the government," Vikhe Patil said.
