The revised cost for the Udhampur to Ramban section is Rs 2,136.97 crore, while that of the Ramban to Banihal section is Rs 2,168.66 crore.
Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given its approval to the revised cost estimate for Udhampur to Ramban section, an official statement said today.
This was approved by the Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) for development of four-laning of NHs under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase II, on Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) Mode, it added.
This decision will expedite the implementation of six sub-projects in Jammu and Kashmir under NHDP Phase-II as well as provide all-weather connectivity from Jammu to Kashmir valley, it said.

On the other section, it said: "The investment/award decision for the sub-project of four laning of Ramban-Banihal Section of NH-1A (now NH-44) of about 32 km on EPC mode is at a revised cost estimate of Rs 2,168.66 crore."
These projects will reduce the journey time from Jammu to Srinagar and strategic border areas in the state.
