"Congress governments have always attempted to divide the people of the state on communal lines and the recent disturbing incidents in Kokrajhar reflect this trend," ULFA publicity in-charge Arunodoy 'Asom' alleged in a statement.
"It is indeed sad that in the land where people of different communities and religions have lived in peace and harmony such incidents of violence and hatred were taking place", the statement added.
"We also believe that the Kokrajhar incidents may have been instigated to divert the attention of the public from the recent incidents of molestation on GS Road (in Guwahati) of a girl by a mob and Demow in Sibsagar by an army jawan," he averred.
The "weakness of the Congress has been exposed in the recent incidents while political parties are known for their indecisive and inactive role in such situations which the ruling party has exploited to remain in power," he asserted.
He appealed all sections to maintain calm and peace.
Nine persons have been killed in attacks and counter- attacks by Bodos and minority immigrants since the night of July 19.
