Under the new sanctioned funds, the paramilitary will construct 10,000 multi-storeyed dwelling units at various locations in the country, including the National Capital Region (NCR), sources said.
The CRPF, a mainstay for anti-Naxal operations in the country, at present provides residential units to only 25 per cent of its three-lakh personnel strong force.
These new funds would only be utilised for construction of houses for the jawans and officers and no administrative buildings will be constructed, sources said.
The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) will be brought as the builder of these residential units.
