The government has sought applications for the post of a judicial member at the Competition Commission of India (CCI).
The move to have a judicial member comes after the Delhi High Court's order that "CCI shall ensure that at all times, during the final hearing, the judicial member is present and participates in the hearing".
Currently, the fair trade regulator has a chairman and two members.
"The government proposes to appoint a member in the CCI with law or judicial background," CCI said in a public notice dated July 3.
The candidate should have at least 15 years of experience in international trade, economics, business, commerce, law finance, accountancy, management, industry, public affairs or competition matters, including competition law and policy, CCI said.
The applications in a prescribed format need to be submitted by July 25.
