"Swachh Bharat Kosh (SBK) has been set up to attract Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds from corporate sector and contributions from individuals and philanthropists," an official statement said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched the country's biggest-ever cleanliness drive Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan that is expected to cost over Rs 62,000 crore.
The objective of the mission is to achieve a Clean India (Swachh Bharat) by the year 2019, the 150th year of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
"Let us join Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan with a spirit of patriotism and fulfil Gandhiji's dream of a clean India," Modi said in a tweet.
"A nation-wide effort will start on Gandhi Jayanti, October 2, 2014 to mobilise resources for improving sanitation facilities in the rural and urban areas, particularly, school premises," the statement added.
