Govt to crack whip on un-authorised constructions

Puducherry Planning Authority (PPA) has announced that action would be taken against owners of buildings constructed without obtaining its prior approval.
The PPA said in a notification that the Puducherry Town and Country Planning Act 1969 and also Puducherry Building bye-laws and zoning Regulations 2012 stipulate that buildings should be constructed only with written permission from the PPA and its prior approval.
The PPA said that any modification in the plan should also be approved by the Authority.
Action would be taken against the owners of the buildings constructed without obtaining permission and approval.
