Replying to a query from Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantric) MLA Samresh Singh, Chief Minister Hemant Soren told the House that the government would ensure the DPLR functioned independently.
Raising the matter during CM's Question Hour in the assembly, Singh claimed interference of the district administration in DPLR's functioning delayed matters relating to compensation.
To another question raised by Congress MLA Ananth Prasad Deb on the issue of migration of labour force, Soren said the government would soon frame rules to protect the interests of the labour force.
On JMM MLA Jagannath Mahato's demand that "para (irregular) teachers" be given the benefits at par with regular teachers, Soren said the government honorarium of "para teachers" was increased regularly and the next hike would be made shortly.
On Marxist Coordination Committee MLA Arup Chatterjee's demand for a Lok Pal in the state on lines of the recently passed Lok Pal Act, 2014, Soren said states were to have Lokayukt and Jharkhand has it.
