Govt to organise events to promote Haryanvi culture: Khattar

Haryana government has decided to organise cultural events throughout the state to promote the rich culture of the state, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said.
Khattar said that Information, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs department has prepared a calendar of cultural events to be organised in the state to apprise the youth of the rich cultural heritage of Haryana.
The department has already started organising these programmes and about 300 such programmes would be organised throughout the year upto block level, he said.
The CM said that the government has also decided to instill moral values in the students while imparting education to them.
Khattar said that such values could be infused among them through slokas of 'Gita' and teachings of other holy books.
"Apart from this, the government has also decided to include Yoga in the school curriculum to ensure their all round development," he said, adding, the state government has taken steps to promote the Haryanvi culture in the state.

The government recently has given tax exemption to a Haryanvi movie 'Pagdi: The Honour' which gives a message against honour killing.
"Any cultural event/movie which spreads message against social evils prevailing in the society should be given exemption in entertainment tax as per the rules," he added.
Referring to the Smart Cities, he said that while Karnal and Faridabad have been announced as two smart cities in the state, Gurgaon would be developed as the third smart city with contributions from the state government.
