The Bihar government is committed to strengthen colleges, research institutes associated with Bihar Animal Sciences University here, the Assembly was informed today.
Replying to a debate on department's budgetary allocation in the Assembly, the in-charge minister for Animal and Fisheries Resources Feroz Ahmad said there is a proposal to strengthen the Institute of Animal Health and Production.
There is also a proposal to buy 10 new ambulatory vans to provide treatment to animals in rural areas, he said.
The Assembly later passed Rs 718.50 crore budgetary grant for Animal and Fisheries Resources department for 2018-19 amid walk out by RJD members.
Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav protested when the minister said the RJD did nothing in their 15 years of rule except opening 'Charwaha Vidyalaya', thus halting all academic and development activities in the state.
Tejashwi stood up from his seat during government's reply to point out that the minister was mocking the concept of Charwaha Vidyalaya which was even appreciated by the United Nations.

Charwaha Vidyalaya was opened in 1991 for children of cattle grazers.
The RJD members later staged a walkout at the fag end of the government's reply expressing their dissatisfaction on its (government's) reply.
