Govt to upgrade J-K tourism website

With a view to provide one-stop solution to various queries of the visitors, the Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to upgrade its tourism website with additional relevant information.
Tourism Minister Ghulam Ahmad Mir said the website will provide a comprehensive information on varied tourism activities in Jammu and Kashmir, along with the facilities available for tourists keen on visiting the state.
Mir, who was speaking after chairing a departmental meeting here today, said, the upgraded website will contain comprehensive details about popular travel destinations and the accommodation and transport facilities available.
It will also provide information on facilities available for leisure, religious, adventure and niche tourism, he said.
Mir said a detailed discussion was held on developing of software applications which can help enhance e-Governance in the tourism department.
The minister also ordered to constitute a committee which will monitor functioning of the tourism department website.
