Gram, arhar fall on muted demand

Prices of gram and arhar dropped by up to Rs 300 per quintal at the wholesale market today on sluggish demand from retailers against adequate stocks position.
Traders said easing demand from retailers against ample stocks position, mainly kept pressure on gram and arhar prices.
In the national capital, gram slipped to Rs 5,600-6,600 from previous level of Rs 5,850-6,900 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality lost Rs 300 each at Rs 6,600-7,000 and Rs 7,000-7,100 per quintal, respectively. Besan Shaktibhog and Rajdhani quoted lower at Rs 2,650 each instead of Rs 2,700 each per 35 kg bag.
Arhar and its dal dara variety also declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,000 and Rs 6,000-7,800 per quintal, respectively.

Masoor small Rs 3,900-4,300, bold Rs 3,950-4,400, Dal Masoor local Rs 4,500-5,000, best quality Rs 4,600-5,100, Malka local Rs 4,600-4,800, best Rs 4,700-4,900, Moth Rs 3,200-3,600, Arhar Rs 4,000, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 6,000-7,800.
