Gram, arhar weaken on reduced offtake

Prices of gram and arhar fell by upto Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market today due to reduced offtake by stockists following easing demand from retailers against adequate stocks position.
However, other pulses held steady in thin trade.
Traders said reduced offtake by stockists on the back of fall in demand from retailers against adequate stocks position, mainly weighed on gram and arhar prices.
In the national capital, gram, gramdal local and best quality were were down by Rs 100 each to Rs 5,300-6,300, Rs 6,100-6,500 and Rs 6,500-6,600 per quintal, respectively.
Arhar and its dal dara variety also traded lower by Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 3,800 and Rs 5,800-7,600 per quintal, respectively.
