However, urad and masoor slipped on reduced offtake.
Traders said besides pick up in demand from retailers, fall in supplies from producing belts mainly led to rise in gram and its dal prices.
In the national capital, gram edged up to Rs 6200-6700 from previous level of Rs 6,000-6,600 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality were up by Rs 200 each to Rs 6,900- 7,300 and Rs 7,300-7,400 per quintal, respectively.
On the other hand, urad and its dal chilka local declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,700-5,800 and Rs 4,800-4,900 per quintal. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and enquired lower by a similar margin to Rs 4,900-5,400 and Rs 5,300-5,500 per quintal.
