Traders attributed the rise in gram and kabuli gram and arhar prices on increased speculative buying.
In the national capital, gram, gramdal local and best quality surged by Rs 500 each to Rs 8,500-8,750, Rs 8,900-9,100 and Rs 9,200-9,300 per quintal respectively.
Kabuli gram small variety followed suit and edged up to Rs 9,000-10,000 from previous level of Rs 9,000-9,700 per quintal.
Arhar also strengthened to Rs 7,150 against last close of Rs 6,750 per quintal.

Moth too slipped to Rs 3,800-4,100 from previous close of Rs 4,200-4,600 per quintal.
