Traders said increased buying by stockists on the back of rising demand against restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly led to the rise in gram and moth prices.
In the national capital, gram rose by Rs 200 to Rs 3,450-4,250 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality was up by similar margin to Rs 4,100-4,300 and Rs 4,200-4,500 per quintal, respectively.
Besin Shaktibhog and Rajdhani were quoted higher at Rs 1,490 each instead of Rs 1,450 per 35 kg bag, respectively.
