Gram pradhan arrested for misappropriation of funds

A gram pradhan has been arrested for alleged misappropriation of funds under MNREGA scheme in Ahroda village, even as a another accused, a gram sachiv, is absconding, police said today.
The gram pradhan identified as Mahavir Singh was arrested yesterday, police said, adding, gram sachiv Sudhir Kumar is still absconding.
A case was registered against the duo for misappropriation of government funds under MNREGA scheme at Ahroda village under Jansath police station on the direction of district magistrate 20 days ago.
Police said a search is underway to nab Kumar.
