Makers of 'Grand Masti', a sequel to the 2004 hit film 'Masti' have tied up with a leading publishing house to release a book based on the adult-comedy.
This is the first time that an international publishing house (Harlequin India -- makers of Mills and Boon) has licensed the character rights of a Hindi feature film.
The book 'Grand Masti: The Fun Never Ends' will feature fun, rib-tickling and excitement-filled escapades of the three main characters of the film- Amar, Meet and Prem, played by Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani on screen.
"We are humbled and privileged that the international publishing house behind Mills & Boon has chosen 'Grand Masti' to enter the Bollywood arena by licensing the character rights of a film for the first time. The tie-up between them and the movie is a boon to the series as well as to the readers of the book," producer Ashok Thakeria said in a statement here.
Thakeria believes that this move will help the film reach out to a wider audience.
The print book will be available across the Indian sub-continent. The film directed by Indra Kumar will see the trio reprise their roles once again.
Besides, the film will also see six actresses -- Manjari Fadnis, Karishma Tanna, Sonalee Kulkarni, Kainaat Arora, Bruna Abdalah and Maryam Zakaria in lead roles.
