Grand mom held

A 62-year-old woman, who allegedly
connived in the rape and sexual harassment of her two minorgrand daughters at Kundra in Kollam district, was today arrested, police said.
The woman's husband, Victor alias Vijayan, who had allegedly committed the offence, was arrested a couple of days ago.
Police said the woman was arrested in connection with two cases of sexual harassment and rape committed by her husband over a two-year period on the children, police said. One of the victims, a 10-year-old, had committed suicide by hanging inside their house at Kundara recently. The woman, undergoing treatment for a kidney ailment, was arrested from a hospital, Kottarakara DYSP Kottarakara, Krishnakumar, the investigating officer, said.

The magistrate was brought to the hospital and remanded her to judicial custody.She would be taken to the jail as soon as she is discharged, the officer said. The woman was questioned with the help of psychologists, police said.
The woman was aware and had knowledge of the happenings, police said.
Cases under various IPC sections, including 376 (punishment for rape) and 305 (abetment of suicide of child), and under various sects of POCSO (Protection of children from sexual offences) Act have been registered against the woman, they said.
