Singer Ariana Grande has opened up about a troubling experience she had with a young fan that made her feel "objectified" and "sick".
The 23-year-old songstress took to Twitter on Tuesday night to share the incident which happened while she was out getting food with her boyfriend Mac Miller.
"A young boy followed us to the car to tell Mac that he's a big fan. He was literally almost in the car with us. I thought all of this was cute and exciting until he said 'Ariana is sexy as hell man I see you, I see you hitting that!!!'"
She writes that she was offended by how the boy spoke to her and about her as if she wasn't there, saying she felt "sick."
"This may not seem like a big deal to some of you but I felt sick and objectified," she says. "I've felt really quiet and hurt since that moment."
She continued her post with a message to her female fans.
"Things like (this) happen all the time and are the kinds of moments that contribute to women's sense of fear and inadequacy. I am not a piece of meat that a man gets to utilize for his pleasure. I'm an adult human being in a relationship with a man who treats me with love and respect."
This is not the first time that the singer has used the social media platform to share powerful message. Last year, she fired back against tabloids speculating who she was dating with a message about how they referred to her.
"I am tired of living in a world where women are mostly referred to as a man's past, present or future PROPERTY/POSSESSION. I...Do not. Belong. To anyone. But myself. And neither do you," she had written.
