Grandson of Lt Gen Hoon marries Pak girl

The grandson of Siachen hero Lt Gen (Retd) Prem Nath Hoon today married a Pakistani girl here with guests from both countries attending the ceremony.
Kanav Pratap Hoon (27) and Samiya Siddiq of Lahore, Pakistan had met in Dubai and fell in love.
Samiya is the daughter of Shazia Siddiq and Mian Muhammad Siddiq while the Hoons are natives of Abottabad in Pakistan.
Close friends and relatives of the groom and the bride from India and Pakistan participated in the function here. Prominent local politicians also attended the ceremony.
Lt Gen Hoon said he is happy that relations are being tied across the border.

"People across the border should meet often," he said.
Former commander of Indian Army's Western Command, Lt Gen Hoon was heading 15 Corps regiment when India took over the highest battlefield in the world, Siachen.
