Great Eastern Shipping Q1 net down 25% to Rs 234 crore

Great Eastern Shipping Company Ltd today posted a 24.8 per cent decline in its consolidated net profit at Rs 233.62 crore for the quarter ended June 30.
The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 310.83 crore in the year-ago period, Great Eastern Shipping Company said in a filing to the BSE.
The income from operations during the April-June quarter dropped to Rs 807.78 crore as against Rs 959 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
Its consolidated revenue from the shipping segment declined to Rs 497.31 crore, over Rs 513.63 crore in the year ago period.

The revenue from the offshore segment also declined to Rs 402.02 crore over Rs 492.44 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal.
