Punk rock band Green Day has announced that they are going to take a break following their upcoming Australian tour scheduled for 2014.
After touring Down Under in February and March, the American band will take their time off as a band to focus on their other projects, reported Ace showbiz.
"We're going to Australia, doing a tour there and then we're going to take a break," frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said in an interview.
"We haven't really been doing much. So it's just nice to kind of do some other things, you know, when we get ready to do Green Day again, our batteries will be charged," he added.
The 'American Idiot' hitmakers are lined up to play five shows at Australia's Soundwave Festival, which will kick off in Sydney on February 22.
They will head to Melbourne and Adelaide before wrapping things up in Perth on March 3.
