"Father seems to have all the updates about global warming effects, how the greeneries are diminishing and after growing up I get to discuss these things more with him. It is a serious problem," Sayani, who playes a New Yorker, having come to his home city to meet her match and his affable, idiosyncratic dad in Jijibisa, told PTI.
Referring to Dutta Senior, who was instrumental in saving Kolkata's verdant green patch in the main hub by shifting all fairs to a permanent pavilion ground in the wake of a High Court order, Sayoni said, "He is not comfortable with the idea of turning up in a film. But well if the right script comes and if it is a small role like cameo, let's see."
"He affectionately said 'Take it easy, do the scenes the way you like and I will correct whenever needed. I instantly remembered how father inquires where I am and when I will be back through calls and sms everyday," Sayani, who loves to portray more intense roles, said. About being cast opposite the 'Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Ma-actor Joy Sengupta, Sayani said "He is very chilled out and patient and always gives space to the co-actor in a scene. "I am blessed to have actors like Soumitra Chatterjee and Joy Sengupta in my third film at this phase of career," Sayani, whose portrayal in Na Hanyate of Ringo, the diastaster-human relation ship themed film sharing similar name with an eponymous novel by Maitrayee Devi, " said. Sayani will be coming up in Ringo's 'Ek Je Achhe Sahar' and an English film in future. "Not that I want to act in films by new age directors (Ringo and Sumit Das for Jijibisa) only. Every film maker has his own set vision and way of looking things," Sayani said.
