"Goa: Its Land and People", would be launched on November 5 by State Forest Minister Rajendra Arlekar.
"This is a book that will provide information about various issues in Goa to the students. It is also a reference book for the teachers," Parag Rangnekar, Programme Manager, Mineral Foundation of Goa (MFG), an NGO, told PTI today.
Various authors have contributed for the book which provides information about water, eco-system, bio-diversity, energy, culture and tradition, solid waste management, sustainable development etc.
"There is one chapter about Goa as a state. It is good to know about India's prominent rivers. But students should also know about rivers in Goa. The attempt is to make them understand what is surrounding them," Rangnekar said.

"Goa: Its Land and People", published in English language, aims to target high school students.
"There is mascot for every chapter. For example, for a chapter on water, frog is the symbol, for biodiversity it is wild bison, for culture and tradition it is anthill," he said.
