The pair will fight for control of their worldwide property empire as well as custody of their teenage daughter and three pet dogs, reported The Daily Star.
"Melanie wants half of everything they jointly own and the current estimate of their property holdings could be far less than the portfolio is actually worth," a source said.
"They own homes, restaurants and commercial buildings across America and Europe," the source added.
Griffith, 56, and Banderas, 53, who are parents to Stella, 17, announced their divorce last month. Griffith is apparently determined to get every penny due to her and has petitioned for sole physical custody of their daughter.
