However, non-edible oils held steady on lack of buying support from consuming industries.
Traders said some buying by vanaspati millers and retailers mainly led to rise in groundnut and mustard oil prices.
In the national capital, groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) and mustard expeller (Dadri) oils were up by Rs 50 each to Rs 8,900 and Rs 7,600 per quintal, respectively.
Groundnut solvent refined oil also edged up by Rs 25 to Rs 1,675-1,725 per tin. Mustard pakki and kachi ghani oils too moved up by Rs 30 each to Rs 1,300-1,350 and Rs 1,350-1,450 per tin, respectively.
