Groundnut oil climbs on heavy demand

Refined palmolein recovered on good retail buying on the back higher Malaysian cues.

Castorseeds bold, castoroil commercial linseedoil held steady in the absence of any major buying activity.

In futures, castorseeds eased on speculative selling following reduced export enquiries.

In the edible section, groundnut oil strengthened by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 1,250 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 1,240 and Refined palmolein rose by Rs 3 per 10kg to Rs 516 from Rs 513.

Turning to futures, Castorseed December resumed slightly lower at Rs 3,575 and later drifted to Rs 3,550 before settling at Rs 3,570 as compared to Rs 3,590 last weekend, showing a modest loss of Rs 20 per tonne.

However, moving to non-edible segment castorseeds bold, castoroil commercial and linseedoil all closed unchanged at Rs 3,425, Rs 715 and Rs 820, respectively.
