Groundnut oil prices declined in an otherwise lacklustre oils and oilseeds wholesale market at Vashi here today on subdued demand from stockist and retailers amid ample supples.
Meanwhile, refined palmolein, castorseeds bold, castoroil commercial and linseed oil all held steady in the absence of any major buying activity.
On the futures market, castorseeds continued its uptrend on speculative buying on the back of higher export enquiries.
In the edible section, Groundnutoil fell by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 1,065 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 1,175. Refined palmolein closed unchanged at Rs 508 per 10 kg.
Turning to futures, Castorseeds June contract resumed lower at Rs 3,367 and later moved down further to Rs 3,350 before settling at Rs 3,410 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 3,380, a net gain of Rs 30 per tonne.
However, moving to non-edible, Castorseeds bold, castor oil commercial and linseed oil all closed at yesterday's level of Rs 3,440 per 100kg, Rs 718 per 10 kg and Rs 740 per 10kg respectively.
