Groundnut oil prices rose in an otherwise lacklustre oils and oilseeds market here today on renewed demand from stockist and retailers on the back of ensuing festivities.
In the non-edible section, linseeds oil fell further due to selling pressure from stockist amidst weak demand from paint and allied industries.
Meanwhile, refined palmolein, castorseed bold and castor oil commercial prices ruled steady in the absence of any worthwhile buying.
There were no trading in castorseeds futures.
In the edible section, Groundnut oil climbed by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 1,210 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 1,200. However, refined palmolein closed unchanged at Rs 512 per 10 kg.
Moving to non-edible section, Linseed oil moved down by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 795 as compared to Rs 800 yesterday. Castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial closed unaltered at Rs 3,550 per 100 kg and Rs 740 per 10 kg, respectively.
