Groundnut and palmolein oil prices firmed up by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on upsurge in demand from retailers against tight supplies from producing regions.
However, other edible and non-edible oils continued to move in a tight range on little doing and settled at previous levels.
Traders said besides pick up in demand from retailers, tight stocks on restricted supplies from producing belts mainly pushed up groundnut and palmolein oil prices.
In the national capital, groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) oil rose by Rs 100 to Rs 12,400 per quintal.
Palmolein (rbd) and palmolein (Kandla) oils also went up by a similar margin to Rs 5,850 and Rs 5,900 per quintal respectively.
