Groundnutoil rise on good demand

Refined palmolein declined further in the absence of retail buying amidst bearish Malaysian advices.

Meanwhile, castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial gained on renewed demand from shippers and soap industry.

In futures trade, castorseeds recovered smartly owing to speculative demand on the back of higher export enquiries.

In the edible section, groundnutoil spurted by Rs 10 per 10 kg to Rs 1,170 from Thursday's close of Rs 1,160. However, refined palmolein went down by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 621 from Rs 626 previously.

Turning to non-edible segment, castorseeds bold moved up by Rs 25 per 100 kg to Rs 3,175 from overnight close of Rs 3,150 and castoroil commercial added by Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 665 from 660. Linseedoil

Moving to futures, castorseed for June contract resumed higher at Rs 3,130, but later drifted lower to Rs 3,114 before rebounding to end at Rs 3,166 as against Rs 3,123 previously, showing a gain of Rs 43 per tonne.
