Groundnutoil slides further on good supplies

Refined palmolein edged up on better retail buying.

In the non-edible segment, castorseed bold and castoroil commercial moved up further owing to increased demand from shippers and soap industries.

In futures trade, castorseeds surged following hectic speculative offtake on the back higher export orders.

In the edible section, groundnutoil dipped by Rs 15 per 10 kg to Rs 1,185 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 1,200 and refined palmolein inched up by a rupee to Rs 656 per 10kg.

Turning to the non-edible section, castorseeds bold rose by Rs 25 per 100 kg to Rs 3,250 from yesterday's close of Rs 3,225 and castorseed commercial gained Rs 5 per 10 kg to Rs 680 from Rs 675. Linseedoil remained stable at Rs 770 per 10 kg.

Moving to futures, castorseed for June contract resumed lower at Rs 3,290, and moved in a range of Rs 3,376 and Rs 3,275 before settling at Rs 3,371 over its previous close of Rs 3,299, showing a smart rise of Rs 71 per tonne.
