Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd will set up a 'GSFC University' and the academic session will initially commence from tomorrow at a make-shift campus till the main infrastructure is set up.
"It will be the first university across the country where with the backing of GSFC, students will get robust industrial exposure and quality education at a very affordable cost," GSFC's Chairman and Managing Director S K Nanda told PTI here today.
With the setting up of this university, GSFC, a leading fertilisers company, forays into education field. It is being established through an Act passed by the Gujarat Assembly in December 2014.
"Initially, it will have a School of Technology, with an intake of 150 students, 75 each in mechanical and chemical branches for four-year degree course, 50 per cent students from Gujarat and remaining from outside the state," he said.

At present, the school of technology will start in a make-shift campus situated at GSFC Training Institute here till its main campus is ready near Dumad village, Nanda said.
At a later stage, it will offer postgraduate and research opportunities in subjects which are cross -disciplinary.
Later, a school of management would be set up that would offer postgraduate education and research and would also have a management development centre for working executives.
