The GST Diwas was marked in Uttar Pradesh today with the state government launching a scheme under which Commercial Tax department officials will personally contact the traders to resolve their issues, an official said.
"The 'Vaanijya Kar, Aapke dwaar' (commercial tax at your doorstep) will be implemented from July 1 to August 31. In the two month period, officials of the department will personally contact the traders and resolve their problems," Additional Chief Secretary (Commercial Tax) Alok Sinha said.
"Various processes like return filing and e-way bill downloading will be done on the spot itself and technical glitches will also be addressed," he said.
UP Finance Minister Rajesh Agarwal said implementation of GST is a revolutionary step towards economic improvement.
"Its main aim is to stop the exploitation of the traders, and making the commodities available to the public at fair price," Agarwal said in Bareilly.
