GSTSTAR-backed by software industry leaders launched

Backed with seed funding of USD one million, software industry veterans today launched GSTSTAR, a new age solution for GST regime.
GSTSTAR is a comprehensive GST solution catering to GST needs of businesses, professionals and large organisations.
Based out of Bengaluru and founded by Infosys veterans Shailesh Agrawal and Balaji G S Rao, GSTSTAR offers products and services for GST compliance and will help businessestransition to GST era smoothly.
The company is backed with seed funding of USD 1 million by software industry leaders and ex-Infosys directors T VMohandas Pai and V Balakrishnan among others.
GSTSTAR Investor and Mentor Balakrishnan said GSTSTAR is poised to help big companies, small and mid-sizebusinesses.
Another GSTSTAR Investor and Mentor Pai, in a message said, the solution is going to increase efficiencies of supply chain and bring transparency in tax governance.

GST, the most significant tax reform taking place in thecountry since independence has made enterprises and professionals anxious about the imminent tax regime, Balakrishnan said.
GSTSTAR partners with businesses and aims to make the transition into GST regime truly smooth and easy for companiesand their supply chains, he said.
Coming into effect from July 1, across India, theunified GST combines various indirect taxes such as VAT,excise duty, and service tax among others.
With GST, the existing 80 lakh tax payer entities that are under the tax umbrella are expected to grow to 3.5 crores,GSTSTAR Co-Founder Shailesh Agrawal said.
The technology offering includes registration, returns andreconciliation of taxes, he added.
Rao said GSTSTAR is simple, reliable and provides services to help businesses of all sizes.
